I wanted one for Christmas 2006 when they came out. I had all of my family looking for one. At one point my sister was standing in line to be the next person to get one and they ran out! So i ended up not getting one, but i was patient and decided to try again around my my birthday in March. This time i was being aggressive and calling stores every other day. Its funny because Best Buy's automatic message would start out saying "we currently do not have any wii's."
Again i was defeated and did not get one for my birthday, however, Easter came and there was much rejoicing. My step-mom's co-worker's son happen to work at a game store and she asked if he would call her the second they came in. Well the Friday before Easter i get an enthusiastic call on my cell phone telling me they have a Wii and they're holding it for me for an hour. I instantly head over with my step-mom. We get there and tell them we're here for the Wii. They shush us and tell us to keep quiet. There were other customers in the store and they didnt want them to know about the Wii. So they go in the back and put the Wii into a black unmarked bag and bring it out. We purchase our "PS2" (what they kept calling it) and head out the door. I felt like i was doing something illegal. It was a great day.
